📍 Larvotto ★★★★ 4-star from €290 (indicative)
Le Méridien Beach Plaza sits on the Avenue Princesse Grace in Larvotto, the eastern end of Monaco, and its selling point is simple: it is the only hotel in the Principality with its own private beach. The rest of the coast is rock and concrete, so a stretch of real sand with sunbeds, a seasonal beach club and a short walk from your room is the reason most guests choose it.
It is a large resort-style property, a little over 400 rooms in a modern 2000s building, and most rooms have a balcony facing the Mediterranean. Expect a polished international-chain feel rather than Belle Époque grandeur, with indoor and outdoor pools, a spa and several restaurants. Some reviewers find parts of the building dated, so ask for a recently renovated room when you book.
The trade-off is location. Larvotto is a pleasant, quieter district with a promenade and the Grimaldi Forum next door, but the Casino is a taxi or bus ride away rather than a stroll. It suits families and summer visitors who want beach time more than evenings in the Casino square, and its rates sit well below the Hôtel de Paris and Hermitage.
What stands out
- Monaco’s only private hotel beach
- Balconies over the Mediterranean
- Large outdoor and indoor pools

The rate above is an indicative low-season starting point, not a quote. Live prices are
on Trip.com (we earn a commission if you book through that link, at no extra cost to
you) or you can book directly with the hotel. Monaco hotels apply multi-night
minimums and substantially higher rates during the Grand Prix in late May and the Yacht
Show in September.
Getting there
Nice Côte d'Azur airport is the gateway: roughly 30 minutes by car or helicopter
transfer, 45 minutes by the express bus, or an hour by train with a change. If you are
arriving by train, Monaco-Monte-Carlo station is built into the rock in the middle of
the country, and every hotel on this site is a short taxi or a walk-plus-lift away —
Monaco's network of public lifts and escalators does most of the climbing for you.
