Superyachts in Port Hercule seen from a balcony at the Hôtel Port Palace, Monaco
Small luxury hotel

Hôtel Port Palace

Fifty-odd rooms directly above Port Hercule, so you look straight down onto the superyachts — and onto the swimming-pool straight of the Grand Prix circuit.

📍 Port Hercule ★★★★ 4-star from €270 (indicative)

The Hôtel Port Palace is one of Monaco’s smallest luxury hotels, with about fifty rooms and suites on the Quai Antoine 1er, directly above Port Hercule. Its balconies look straight down on the superyachts moored in the harbour, and during the Grand Prix the hotel sits on the swimming-pool section of the circuit, which is why the rooms sell out for race weekend months ahead.

Because it is small, service is more personal than in the big palace hotels. Rooms are classically furnished, many with a harbour view, and there is a restaurant and terrace on site. Check-in feels closer to a private residence than a resort lobby, and reviewers consistently rate it highly for staff and position.

It is a five-minute walk uphill to the Casino square, and the Condamine market and the Rock are close by in the other direction. There is no pool or spa to speak of, and parking is limited, so it works best for travellers who plan to spend their days out in Monaco rather than at the hotel.

What stands out

  • Balconies over the harbour and the circuit
  • Small enough to feel personal
  • Five minutes on foot to the Casino

The rate above is an indicative low-season starting point, not a quote. Live prices are on Trip.com (we earn a commission if you book through that link, at no extra cost to you) or you can book directly with the hotel. Monaco hotels apply multi-night minimums and substantially higher rates during the Grand Prix in late May and the Yacht Show in September.

Getting there

Nice Côte d'Azur airport is the gateway: roughly 30 minutes by car or helicopter transfer, 45 minutes by the express bus, or an hour by train with a change. If you are arriving by train, Monaco-Monte-Carlo station is built into the rock in the middle of the country, and every hotel on this site is a short taxi or a walk-plus-lift away — Monaco's network of public lifts and escalators does most of the climbing for you.
